What is data Cube ?

Imported data is stored in multi-dimensional data cubes. Cubes contain fact data that are divided by dimensions and each detailed fact "cell" contains measure values about that fact. This is an example of a Sales cube that has Customers, Products and the Time dimensions and has two measures - Sales amount and Units sold. Each detailed cube "cell" contains sales amount and units sold for particular product, customer and time period:

What HansaWorld data is supported by Flex.bi ?

Currently Flex.bi Cloud version supports data import for selected HansaWorld modules and features (listed below)  - it means that if you upload standard HansaWorld exported register files (*txt) or connect with Rest api  -  Data Cubes with dimensions, hierarchies, measures and properties that will be created automatically based on data received will be created automatically in Analyse tab.

For Flex.bi Private  - you can create and combine together also other data cubes as this version is open for customizations. This allow to create data cubes not only for other specific Hansaworld modules but also other from SQL and Rest api conected data.

If you have a question about data cubes, dimensions, hierarchies  -  please read more about  Basic Concepts of Flex.bi or contact us support@flex.bi

What defines a HansaWorld data cube  ?

Essential registers :
Essential to create data cube
Base currency setting - BaseCurBlock

Defines what currency your system is using and gives directions how to calculate measures (Currency, Base currency, Base currency 1)

Main register

(Depends on data cube, see list below )

Main data source of data that belongs to this data cube

For example:  Hansaworld Invoices main register is Invoices, For Hansaworld Financials  - Transactions. See full list below .
Main register values will be stored in Measure Dimension.  Values are stored in currencies that is defined in your base currency setting and have Item and record level measures. You can read more about it here - FAQ : What is the difference between record and item level measures

Optional registers and measures :

will add other measure values, give names to members and create properties.

Extra Registers

Extra values that can be added to Measures dimension based on some specific register in Hansaworld. For example, Invoice Balance ( Invoices ) , Item Status ( Stock)

Registers  with Dimension

Optional registers are all the rest that you decide to import and would like to use in your reports as measures or filters.

Registers with Dynamic dimension
Shared Registers and Measures

In HansaWorld ERP typically you can create reports based on current modules data, in Flex.bi  - data can be mixed together from different data cubes as long as they makes sense and have valid connection. Those are called Shared Measures. You can suggest shared measures of your choice - support@flex.bi.
